sixteen.

Yep, 16 days clean now. I've officially beaten my last attempt at abstaining from shopping (which happened after my dad was finally fed up with my spending habbits, and banned me from shopping. And yeah, that only lasted 2 weeks lol)

Again, there've been a couple of close calls, with sales left, right & center. I've been avoiding getting to work early, leaving just enough time to eat/grab a coffee.

There was that really close call on Sunday when I stumbled across a discount voucher for work whilst cleaning out my wallet, that was due to expire on Tuesday. I decided then and there that I was gonna make an emergency pit stop at work after uni on Monday and pick up some work shoes for the new season, which, let's face it, I'm gonna need to pick up eventually.

Fortunately for my shopping diet, (but unfortunately for my regular diet) I wound up meeting up with my cousin for Thai after uni, where he fell in love with my brand spankin' new uni bag - a gorgeous vintage style doctor's satchel that I'd gotten from work only a few days after it came in. I popped into work & got another one ordered in for him a few hours later, and even though I was disappointed that I didn't have any shiny new season shoes, I was satisfied with the outcome - no voucher wastage, & no purchases on my behalf. Win.

Betts 'Floyd' bag, $79.99

It's pretty frustrating though, because despite all my efforts at curbing my addiction, I still haven't got any money. I've been spending so much on food and drinks (especially with 21st season still going strong) that by the end of the week, I'm still exactly where I started - broke. Except that now, I've got nothing tangible to show for my lack of money, besides my love handles. Sigh, still I persevere.

Oh, and one more thing - do you guys ever have those days where you've quickly chucked together an outfit, for no occasion in particular, which, by the end of the day, you've completely fallen in love with? Maybe it's super comfy, maybe it's flattering in all the right places, or maybe it's just too damn pretty to waste. You just can't help but want to give it a second whirl (because, after all, not enough people saw it on you the first time you wore it), even at the risk of bumping into the few people that did see you in it the last time. Yeah, well I had one of those days this week. A lazy-day-at-home-outfit turned into the perfect first-day-of-semester uni outfit with the simple addition of a lightweight khaki jacket, some nanna-esque tan brogues, and an oversized satchel bag. Win. Here's the week in clothes...
